Why is human nature compared to dog’s tail
We are all familiar with Tenali Rama stories. No matter how many times we read or listen to them since childhood. We never get bored. Recently I watch it a story like that on YouTube. I am not sure if this story is actually a part of Tenali Rama tales. But it will really good when I heard it. Alright let’s get straight into the story.
One day, in krishnadevaraya’s court, it is question on human nature comes up. Many says that human behaviour is like a dog tail, which can never be straightened. Some are you that this cannot be claimed without proof. Why others insist that if a person is determined, they can achieve anything. To avoid wasting time on words, they all are you to conduct a small experiment for fun. The king assign each poet in court a puppy and the decide to try to straighten in each puppies tail over 3 months.
Along with the king, everyone trying to straighten the puppy’s tail. Everyone fails at this challenge, except Tenali Rama. Everyone is surprised and ask Tenali Rama how he did it. Tenali Rama answers in this way..
“as we all expected, a dog’s tail and human nature are quiet similar. To make my dog’s day straight, I fed it once in a day. Compare to all your dogs, my become very weak you can observe if you want. Because of this weakness, my dog lost the strength to keep it’s tail crocked.
Human nature is exactly like this.. when we have everything we need, and we see no lack in our lives, our minds tend to wander and become crooked. Just like the tails of your dogs but when we face challenges, we start thinking about how to overcome them. And that’s when our mind stays sharp and focused. As always, everyone couldn’t help but admire Tenali Rama’s cleverness.
